What's your face shape? Measure it in 2 minutes.

Four measurements and one mirror — then the styles that suit you.

WHAT YOU NEED

A flexible tape — or string + ruler

Tie hair back, stand in good light facing a mirror. Four numbers decide your face shape.

MEASURE 1

Forehead: the widest point

Measure across your forehead at its widest, usually midway between brows and hairline. Note the inches.

MEASURE 2

Cheekbones: point to point

Tape across the fullest part of your cheeks, just below the eyes. Often the widest number of the four.

MEASURE 3

Jawline: angle to chin tip

From the jaw's angle below your ear to the tip of your chin — then double it for the full jaw width.

MEASURE 4

Face length: hairline to chin

Straight down the centre of your face. Compare it with cheekbone width — the ratio is the key.

READ IT · LONG

Length ≫ width = oblong or oval

Length clearly beating every width means oblong. Closer numbers with soft edges point to oval.

READ IT · WIDE

Widths close = round or square

Similar widths with a curved outline = round. Similar widths plus a strong straight jaw = square.

THE BOTTOM LINE

Four numbers, one answer

Measure, compare, match. The face shape finder does the comparing — and suggests cuts and styles.
